In fact, I felt it is lacking in terms of the world-building. But I couldn't be bothered by the sci-fi part. I do not mind the story that's happening in Ingei + humans encounters with the paranormal. At the same time, in a parallel world of Hilaga City, led by blood-thirsty dark figures like Master Selym, Lord Jahat & Master Serigala, strange occurrences start to happen that may or may not lead to a war between the two parallel worlds, in fear of MEN taking over the mystical world. Their adventure is disrupted by sinister encounters with otherworldly demons like Babalan, Orang Tinggi, Pontianak & Bunian. ![]() The book follows three conservationists in Brunei in an attempt to stop poachers from exploiting the endangered wildlife in one of the deepest jungles of the country - Sungai Ingei, Belait. Although the plot is promising, there are some loopholes, cliffhangers and unanswered questions. This is a fair attempt in creating a local sci-fi supernatural thriller. ![]()
